If you do not wish to purchase through our usual checkout process, you can place your order on phone through our DIAL-A-BOOK service. Select the book you wish to purchase, noting its 10-digit ISBN number and call our easy-to-remember number 0713-111-111 or 020-2116264 to order or email us on sales@booksfirst.co.ke. You will need to advise us of your delivery location and we will advise you of the total amount payable on your order.

How do I search for a book? With thousands of books available on our website, it may be necessary to narrow down your book search. You can click on the category on the left hand menu and from within the category listing, select an author from the drop down menu. This will show you a listing of all the books by that particular author and you can then select the book you want. You can also click on the ‘Search” link on the top menu and from the search box you can search for a title, an author, a keyword or an ISBN, and enter the search terms in the box provided. Then hit "Search".

How do I place an order? Ordering books is a simple process. When you have found something you like, simply click the "Add to Cart" button that appears next to the book. Once you have finished shopping, just press the "Check Out" button and the ordering process will begin. Fill in all your details and confirm your order. An account will be created for you the first time you order, so that you will not have to fill in most of the details when you return. After we have received your order, we will send you an e-mail containing confirmation of the books you have ordered and the total cost of your purchase. To read more about ordering, click here

How can I pay for my purchase? At present, we accept MPESA payment, cash on delivery, cheques and money orders as methods of payment, as well as direct bank deposits. To read more about payment options, click here

How long will it take to receive my books? Due to the huge demands and fast moving nature of our books, we cannot confirm the availability of any book at the time of checkout. Upon receiving your order, we will check availability of your book and inform you accordingly. Once the book is confirmed as available, we will deliver it to you immediately. For orders from outside Nairobi, we will send your book to you through courier service. Usually, this entire process takes between 2 and 3 days from the date of order.

Do you ship outside Kenya? Yes. Our rates for international shipping are shown on the website. We will send your book to you through international courier and also your tracking number so that you can track the status of your order. Please note that these rates are applicable to weight below 0.5kilogrammes.

How do I keep track of what I've ordered? You can view the status of your orders online by clicking on the " View My Order History" link or for international orders, use the tracking number we send you to track the delivery status on the couriers website. From the “View Order History” page, look out for the “Order Status” link to view your order status. If you would like to enquire about an order, please e-mail our sales department or call +254-713-333-222 with the details, and we will follow it up for you.

Can I cancel an order? While we don't encourage whimsical cancellation of orders, we are not unreasonable. If you have a problem or feel that you have made a mistake, please e-mail our orders department and we will do whatever we can to accommodate you.

- What if I do not receive an order confirmation via e-mail?
You will receive an order confirmation message via e-mail shortly after we receive your order. If you do not receive this message within two hours after placing your order, there might be a delay on the Web due to traffic. If this happens, please feel free to contact us at 0713-333-22 or 020-2116264 to ensure that your order is being processed. The order confirmation e-mail will also contain all the information you input. We recommend that you review your order and if you notice an error (such as a wrong address, misspelling, etc.) please send us the correction, your order confirmation number, and your daytime and evening phone numbers to facilitate the process. We will be happy to change any information as long as your order has not been packaged and shipped.

- Do you require a signature for delivery?
For proof of delivery, we require the recipient or whoever receives the package on their behalf to sign the delivery book that our personnel have. At our representative's discretion, he/she will either leave the package with a responsible, named person at the recipient's workplace/home or leave notice of the delivery attempt with contact information. We assume no responsibility for the packages that are left, although problems are almost unheard of. For deliveries by courier, the courier company will require the recipient's signature at the time of delivery.
